Flags of our Fathers

Flags of our Fathers is a book written about the men who severed our country in world war II. It focuses on the lives of the 5 men who rose the America Flag on Iwo Jima. The author James Bradley is the son of one of these historically famous young men. he begins by telling you background information about himself and why he is writing this book. He tells you that he is the son of one of the men about his family. Then he goes off and tell you about his experience as he goes to Iwo Jima for the first time after the death of his father to lay down a plaque for the men you raised the flag on that hill top. The ironic thing about his trip to this infamous island was that this time they had to ask the permission from the Japanese government to go vistit because it has since now become a Japanese naval base.
